Mark Aitchison, Musical Director writes...

Set up in April 2008, Tewkesbury Chamber Choir has developed into a choir to be reckoned with. In an area with many district and town choral societies, a small group of us felt that there was a need for a versatile choir that could adapt from the sublime to the ridiculous. So 12 months, 4 concerts and one 8 hour trip on a minibus later: TCC has arrived!

By performing music to a high standard, we aim to satisfy our audiences with the familiar and expected, while challenging them with those works not so in the main stream. Who else would perform Ain't Misbehaving, the great jazz classic, alongside Vivaldi's Gloria and Chilcot's Aesop's Fables composed in 2008. We are a group that can not only be successful in the classical repertoire, but can also entertain with Jazz, 20th Century weirdness and as of June 12th Music Theatre Classics.

A collaborative group, all members regularly suggest music for the choir to sing, be it from past experience or a chance listen to Classic Fm or BBC Radio 4! Even buying 20 copies of a piece of music because they were on sale brought us one of our more successful pieces.

So don't dilly and dally!!!! Come and SING!!!!

We don't audition members! Rather we rely on an open rehearsal or come along and see approach, where you can decide for yourself if you fit in. So if you love singing, don't be afraid to try! Get on the website and come along, or call Mark the musical director on 07866 788201.
